The first class
Homeroom is being built toward a small pilot this school year: a cohort of elementary-school families — solo parents, two-household schedules, and the grandparents, sitters and carpool parents who hold the week together.
Where things stand: the iOS app is in development. Pilot signup is not open yet — there is no waitlist or signup backend today, deliberately. This page is the pilot plan, and it will host real signup when the app reaches TestFlight.
What the pilot is
- A small cohort (~2–3 elementary schools' worth of families, recruited through parents — opt-in, never through school administration).
- The app free through the school year, plus a direct line to the people building it.
- In return we ask pilot families to forward real school notices and tell us every time the list gets something wrong.
What it may cost later
Our working hypothesis is roughly $5/month per family (all children, all caregivers) after the pilot. That is a target to validate with pilot families, not a commitment.
What it does
Forward the email or photograph the flyer → Homeroom pulls out what to bring, pay, sign and attend → you approve every line → hand the week off to whoever's on pickup with a one-tap caregiver brief.
